As we are approaching the summer of 2021, we are seeing an increase in particular types of weddings. Small and personal ceremonies are growing in popularity, due to the current government restrictions on indoor events. To avoid this, some couples have opted for an outdoor wedding, in order to have more freedom with their day. An outdoor wedding in the summer, catered for by Hog Roast Great Yarmouth – what could be better?
After having to cancel their summer 2020 wedding, James and Sophie were definitely not going to allow COVID-19 restrictions to postpone their big day again. Because of this, they chose to change their original wedding plan, instead choosing to book an outdoor venue for a small group of their friends and family. Outdoor events are currently permitted, although there were some changes for guests to keep in mind. They were required to remain seated where possible, in order to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. As caterers, Hog Roast Great Yarmouth also had to provide table service only, rather than buffet catering.
For the menu, the couple had decided on our standard wedding catering package, which features 2 incredible main course options, followed by your wedding cake. Normally this menu is provided buffet-style, although restrictions meant that we provided table service instead.
The first main we served was our classic Hog Roast Great Yarmouth slow-roasted pig, served with homemade stuffing, crackling and fresh applesauce. The alternate choice was sirloin of British beef, served with red wine gravy and cooked to the guests’ liking. The main dishes were served with seasonal vegetables, homemade coleslaw, Ceaser salad, and roasted baby new potatoes. To finish the menu, we plated the wedding cake provided by the couple and served it to the guests.
