One of the things that we have always loved about being a wedding caterer is that our job takes us out to some truly magnificent locations in the UK. It is the absolute privilege of every Hog Roast St Neots chef and server to be able to cater for so many lovely couple’s special day, and with the venues that so many of you take us out to, it truly is a special day!
A new one to have ticked off the list this past week was the beautiful wedding ceremony and reception for Lee and Lauren, held at the historic Buckden Towers. Buckden Towers will be well known to many in East Anglia and certainly St Neots. It’s a beautiful landmark that has been very well preserved by the missionaries that now operate it as a conference and retreat centre. The medieval fortified house boasts exquisite castle towers, plenty of greenery, and a parish house, making it the perfect spot for a wedding.
The Hog Roast St Neots team were amazed as we drove up to it. How lucky are we that our job includes getting to spend the day in such a site! And with such a beautiful bride, groom, and guests too. If the surroundings said special day then everything else about the occasion did as well.
For our part, the Hog Roast St Neots added some more spice and smoke with our favoured southern slow roast menu. Perfect for a summer’s day where the heat is high, our southern slow roast delivers American style slow roasts. The style of cooking low and slow intensifies the spice dry rubs and the BBQ marination of the meats while also ensuring they come out extremely tender. Laura, Lee, and co opted for our tangy BBQ pork butt, Texas style 24 hour beef brisket, and Cajun spiced rotisserie cooked chickens. Each of these meats can have even more flavour added through our selection of hot sauces and smoky and sweet BBQ sauces. For some much needed cooling, accompaniments included seasonal leafy greens, gourmet coleslaw, and a mix of regular and sweet potato fries.
