The best part of the summer wedding season is that we at Hog Roast St Ives get to come out to all sorts of wonderful summer venues and make the very most if the season with our summertime dining. This week’s grand wedding event took our team out to the extraordinary Burleigh Hill Farm, where we brought alfresco dining to a wonderful wedding reception.
Burleigh Hill Farm is just on the outskirts of St Ives, in the heart of the tranquil Cambridgeshire countryside. This brilliant venue offers a tonne of privacy as well as beautiful views to make the perfect backdrop to your special day. As far as workplaces go, it’s not a bad office for the afternoon for the Hog Roast St Ives. With the sun shining we got even more out of the venue too; our team had a lovely time cooking out in the sun (in both senses) as our hog roast did its thing right the way through the morning and into the afternoon for a 4PM serving time. While the roast cooked away on our special mobile hog roast machine, our head chef Andrew put together the rest of this special alfresco dining menu.
When you’ve got a sunny outdoor venue like this, it helps to have a menu that makes use of the atmosphere. Our grazing tables and fine meat and cheese platters do just that. It works wonderfully with the summertime vibe, as guests can pick away at the finest Italian meats, cheeses, artisanal breads, salad items, and dipping oils. It’s light, refreshing, colourful, and most certainly delicious!
Then came our hog roast main, which paired nicely with our veggie alternatives of grilled veg and halloumi skewers and BBQ pulled jackfruit. Our hog roast had its classic sage and onion stuffing and crispy crackling accompaniments, and all three options were dished up with golden roast potatoes, coleslaw, and refreshing salad options. As a topper to a perfect evening of dining, we then had mini cheesecakes and profiteroles for dessert – a favourite at Hog Roast St Ives!
