As caterers in the wedding industry, we at Hog Roast Southwold hear all the time that the wedding day for the bride and groom is just a complete blur. And no, that’s not because of any drink, but rather just because of how much is going on, how many people you have to meet and greet, and how much pressure can be placed upon the day. So any bride and grooms come to us to tell us that the few moments where they were able to slow things down and actually savour part of the day was the meal catered by us.
It makes sense then that for some the better option than a wedding reception is to have a more relaxed luncheon the day after. This was the case this past weekend as Hog Roast Southwold came out to cater a wedding-level lunch for the bride, groom, close friends and family the day after they had actually tied the knot. This way all. Of the pressure of the wedding remains in the day previous and now everyone can enjoy the toasts and the celebrations fully relaxed and engaged with the whole day.
Just because this comes the day after the wedding doesn’t mean the dining level changes any. The Hog Roast Southwold team still had a high-end dining experience well prepared for all 50 guests to enjoy. For the menu: our signature hog roast coupled with a veggie option of grilled veg and halloumi skewers with wraps, tzatziki dip, and sweet chilli sauce, or the alternative to our hog roast, the BBQ marinated pulled jackfruit – akin in look, taste, and texture to our signature namesake. All was served buffet style along with crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing, tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, creamy slaw, herb dressed new potatoes, and fresh fries.
