Corporate Event Catering With Hog Roast Bury St Edmunds!

When Hog Roast Bury St Edmunds recently catered a corporate hospitality event locally, we were asked by PA Jenny to provide plenty of food for around 80 guests. Most of the guests would be enjoying one of our scrumptious hog roasts but we also needed to ensure there were alternative dishes for guests with dietary restrictions, including vegetarian and gluten-free.

When Jenny asked us to cook the traditional hog roast in order to make our amazing pigs in buns for the event, we let her know that meat-eating gluten-free guests could also eat them, so long as we took along suitable bread rolls, as everything else we use is already suitable. Extremely happy to hear that, as Jenny herself has a gluten intolerance, we then moved on to choosing a vegetarian option.

We have several lovely dishes that our chefs can make for vegetarians, with the most popular being our veggie skewers, and having been told about them already, Jenny decided they would be a great addition to the food served. We booked in the event several weeks ago and then recently, it came round to the day itself.

Our Hog Roast Bury St Edmunds chef and team members arrived at the works venue on a dreary, wet morning, but the weather wouldn’t affect this function as we were preparing, cooking and serving inside a large warehouse. You may have thought that hog roasts are only able to be cooked outside but as long as the space is big enough and there’s plenty of ventilation, we can cook indoors too.

Once we’d set up our equipment it was time to prepare the meat to be roasted so our chef scored it all over, added lots of water and then covered it in lots of salt, to make the crackling. Hours later, with the hog still sizzling away in its own juices, our Hog Roast Bury St Edmunds team prepared everything needed to make the hog roast rolls, grilled the halloumi and vegetable skewers and set out the condiments and serviettes on the serving tables. By 3pm, it was finally time for the hungry guests to dig in.
