If there is one thing that you come to appreciate working day in day out as an event caterer, it is the true joys of life. Most days we work our job revolves around some of the most special, most important, memorable, and joyous occasions in life. Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations for job promotions, business launches, you name it. Event dining is so often about sharing the finer special parts of life with friends, family, strangers.
We take it as an absolute privilege here at Hog Roast Alconbury to be able to share in these occasions – and even contribute to the memory-making at them. So, then, when we were contacted recently about an event here in Alconbury that was explicitly to celebrate life, we could only jump at the chance. A total encapsulation of everything we feel coming out of each and every event, here was an occasion that really summed it all up. We couldn’t possibly turn down the offer, even during an extremely busy booking season.
So last week head chef Andrew and the Hog Roast Alconbury team headed out to Alconbury, armed with a hog roast, our mobile roasting machine, and a whole load of fresh ingredients to turn into a feast for joy and celebration. An event dedicated to celebrating life, health, and the future, we were right in our element from the off!
And the weather played along too for this glorious celebration. As our team set up in the garden, a dazzling golden hue descended over the party as evening began to draw in, leaving a brilliant summertime atmosphere to the celebration which worked just perfectly with our hog roast menu. The warmth remained from a scorching afternoon prior, meaning a good dose of hog roast rolls, sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, grilled veg and halloumi skewers, creamy red cabbage slaw, and seasonal leafy greens was just the thing to keep the summer night going.
The Hog Roast Alconbury came away with massive smiles on our face afterwards. What a wonderful way to spend an evening and what a brilliant event to cater. Our thanks to our hosts for once again reminding us what a beautiful thing life is and how much this career can connect us to it!
