A brilliant wedding to tell you all about at Hog Roast Carleton Rode from this past weekend, and what a day we had for it!
This was a wedding for the Purnell’s, who came to head chef Andrew at Hog Roast Carleton Rode looking for the full wedding dining package for their special day. That includes your traditional drinks and canapes as guests arrive to the reception, with our choice for this wedding to be to serve up our bright and bountiful al fresco dining platters. These platters add a tonne of colour and taste into the day right from the off; you have the finest Italian meats and cheeses, all finely sliced by our expert chefs, served along with artisanal breads, salad leaves, and zesty dipping oils for that wonderful summer feel.
This was a perfect aperitif for guests as they found their places at the dining tables before then our main event could be presented: the signature hog roast. A must have for any wedding – or, indeed, any event with Hog Roast Carleton Rode – our hog roast is cooked in the authentic spit style on our very own-designed machine hog roaster. It replicated the style of the old fire pit spit, only making it more feasible for the modern event out on the road. Less set up, less fuss; all the same taste and spectacle!
Our hog roast was provided as part of the main in a buffet spread. While Andrew finely carved up the pork roast, the rest of our serving staff were on hand across the buffet table to serve guests up with the accompanying sage and onion stuffing, golden crackling, apple sauce, creamy red cabbage coleslaw, tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed leaves, herb dressed new potatoes, and a potential veggie friendly option of either grilled veg and halloumi skewers or our BBQ marinated pulled jackfruit – which comes extremely closely to the look, the taste, and the texture of its pork counterpart.
Following dinner (and a few dances), guests could then return to the buffet table once more for a brilliant choice of dessert options, putting the sweet cherry on top of an already perfect wedding and dining experience with Hog Roast Carleton Rode!
