The 1st of January was a very special day – and not only because it marked the beginning of 2023! Kickstarting the New Year in style, lovebirds Hannah and Caleb tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at a gorgeous, ivy-covered mansion; nestled in the heart of East Anglia’s breathtaking countryside.
The character-rich venue was the perfect space for the nuptials to take place, and all those who attended were in awe of the quintessentially English Grade II listed building, which provided ample room for the 140 guests the couple had invited to join them in celebrating the all-important occasion.
Hog Roast East Norton’s catering team, fronted by franchise managers Andrew and James, had been asked to lend a helping hand at this event by serving our ever-popular Formal Wedding Catering menu, which presented guests with a choice of drinks and canapes upon their arrival, followed by a tantalising three-course meal, complete with our professional cake service.
The canapes, on this occasion, consisted of smoked Scottish salmon, roasted duck, chicken liver parfait, mini quiche and roasted halloumi and tomato crostini served with a punchy red onion marmalade. This selection of bitesize treats proved to be the perfect introduction to the main courses, with everyone revelling in the rich and tasty flavour combinations.
Following the toasts, Hog Roast East Norton’s caterers whipped round the dining hall, delivering bowls of steaming hot homemade soup with crusty bread rolls and butter to the hungry guests, who dug in immediately. While they cleared their plates, our crew began setting out the buffet tables with various salad options, coleslaw, dauphinoise potatoes, grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs, whole roasted free-range turkey with sage butter, homemade stuffing and cranberry sauce and spit-roasted whole English lamb with Yorkshire puddings and mint sauce.
To chase down this elegant menu, guests had the option of tucking into our handmade vacherins of strawberries with passionfruit cream or traditional sticky toffee pudding.
The food couldn’t have gone down better with the group, and everyone made sure to thank Hog Roast East Norton for their outstanding service, which filled us with a sense of pride and achievement.
