Hog Roast Martlesham – Milestone Party Catering – A Special 50th!

Hog Roast Martlesham recently helped Barry to celebrate his 50th birthday in style, with a hog roast centrepiece that wowed his guests from start to finish but also with some added extras that meant everyone was full and more than satisfied by the end of the evening. We often cater parties and events with additional dishes, and whether you’re after an entire menu of several courses, perhaps with our handmade canapés to start and coffee and mints to finish, or some hot or cold sides such as spicy sweet potato wedges, a tomato and mozzarella salad and corn on the cob or even if you have dietary requirements for some of your guests, our chefs will cook a lavish meal that everyone can enjoy.

Hog Roast MartleshamWhen Barry asked Hog Roast Martlesham to cater his milestone party, he knew he wanted our pigs in buns made from a top-quality, locally-sourced hog but he also wanted his guests to be able to dine on more, as he knows variety is key when it comes to catering a large group of people with differing tastes. In addition to us making our famous hog roast rolls, he was more than happy when we said he could mix and match items between menus, in order to create his own, and he decided on skin-on jacket potatoes, which would cook inside the machine while the hog roasted above, a Greek salad and our homemade coleslaw and mac and cheese. These four dishes are all made separate to the meat, so his vegetarian guests could enjoy them too. While we can easily whip up a dedicated veggie main, oftentimes a few sides do the job just as well.

On the day of the party, which was on the day before Barry’s 50th birthday, our Hog Roast Martlesham catering team headed to the hotel venue and set up our equipment inside the marquee that he had hired. It was due to rain so we were cooking inside, though as we always take our trusty gazebo with us, we can actually cook in any weather if needed.

By 5pm, we had a great feast ready for Barry and his hungry guests and as our chef got the carving knives out to slice up the huge hog, they all started to queue up for a tasty bite to eat.
