Hog Roast Suffolk Catering For 400 At Cakes and Ale Holiday Park

Hog Roast Suffolk caters all kinds of parties and events in lots of different locations. Recently, we were asked to cater at Cakes and Ale Holiday Park which is located in Thebberton, near Leiston. Cakes and Ale is a brilliantly-named, family-owned, award-winning holiday park set in 45 acres on the Suffolk coast. The holiday park just celebrated its 50th anniversary, where they asked Hog Roast Suffolk to cook our amazing pigs in buns (otherwise known as Menu 1) for 250 guests.

Lincolnshire - pig2To make pigs in buns, we lovingly prepare the hog by scoring all over, adding water and massaging in plenty of salt (the latter gives us that crispy, crunchy crackling), then we set the temperature low and watch over it as it sizzles for several hours. Once perfectly cooked, we add bits of the meat and crackling to fresh bread rolls and wraps, top with apple sauce and stuffing (both homemade by us) and then serve to you and your guests to add your choice of condiments. They are heaven in a bun (or heaven in a wrap if you prefer!)

For this celebration, we were also asked to cook 25 extra sausages for those who didn’t fancy or couldn’t eat the hog roast and also to provide a vegetarian option of veggie skewers. We have so many additional and alternative options so you can ensure that all your guests can eat our tasty food when you book us to cater your party or event.

On the day of the 50th anniversary party, Hog Roast Suffolk Head Chef Paul and his team arrived hours before the food service, so that we could set up our gazebo and serving tables and start cooking the hogs using our own hog roast machines.

By 5pm, everything had cooked wonderfully and after carving the meat, it was time to spend the next couple of hours serving the many guests lots of lovely food. We served plenty of pigs in buns on this day and many people came back for seconds or more. Almost 400 guests turned up to celebrate, and enjoyed our food as well as other options available on the day, like some lovely curries. What a fabulous day and the weather stayed perfect!
