Having the beautiful Suffolk countryside right on our doorstep is a privilege we never grow tired of. On the contrary, we relish every opportunity to embrace the idyllic settings that make Tannington a truly enchanting little village. So, when Meggan and Robert approached Hog Roast Tannington to place a booking for their wedding reception that was to take place out in The Stables, our team could barely contain their enthusiasm!
Set amidst a perfectly manicured 2-acre garden and surrounded by gorgeous vistas, it’s no wonder The Stables is so popular among brides and grooms, and for Meggan and Robert, getting the venue was a dream come true. The rustic space had called for an equally charming menu, and with that in mind, our Hog Roast Tannington catering manager, James, assisted the couple with finding the ideal meal for the occasion.
After helping them to considerably narrow down their choices, the bride and groom settled on our Classic Hog Roast Menu, which suited the needs of all 100 guests to a T; including the veggies and vegans who were to be served our meat-free, hickory BBQ sauce flavoured pulled jackfruit, served on crunchy rolls with a vegan coleslaw topping. Everyone else was offered our whole-roasted free-range pig with freshly made applesauce, homemade sage and onion stuffing, professionally carved crackling and gluten-free buns. Fluffy jacket potato wedges and an assortment of seasonal vegetables were offered too, and the whole lot was served on real China crockery with matching cutlery to elevate the feast.
The meal preparations took much of the late morning and early afternoon to prepare, but by the time the wedding party arrived, ravenous and ready to dig in, Hog Roast Tannington had made sure everything was instantly ready to be served. Meggan and Robert were particularly pleased with our team’s organisation, which allowed the speeches, toasts, and dance to go ahead in accordance with their original plans.
Our food received a lot of compliments from the guests who couldn’t get enough of the juicy pork and sensational sides. The non-meat-eaters were in great spirits too, and had hungrily devoured the delicious jackfruit option on offer.
