Hog Roast Lowestoft has proudly catered all types of events in all kinds of locations over the years and it never gets boring as no two days are alike. We recently catered an owners-only party at the award-winning Waveney Valley Lakes Caravan Holiday Home and Lodge Park, which has a lovely rural location in the heart of the valley, in Harleston’s Wortwell, on the borders of Suffolk and Norfolk. With 60 acres and 11 lakes, Waveney Valley Lakes is a gorgeous place to have a holiday home and with owner events like a hog roast with Hog Roast Lowestoft, there’s even more reason to choose this tranquil park!
Mark asked us to cook our highly-popular Menu 1 of pigs in buns, as well as additional sausages and grilled veggie skewers with halloumi and fresh veg for the vegetarian guests. We have various options for guests on special diets, as we believe that everyone should get to enjoy our delicious food – just ask our team in advance when you book your event and we’ll ensure everyone’s catered. We can also provide many extras if needed, like with Mark from Waveney Valley Lakes asking for additional sausages; if you’d like vegetables, potatoes, salads or extra meat dishes with your main, we have plenty of options, and if you’d like a different main to a hog roast, we can cook a spit roast, barbecued meat, our Southern Slow Roast or even fish dishes. Additional and alternative dishes are never a problem with our catering services.
On the day of the event, Hog Roast Lowestoft arrived hours earlier to prepare and start roasting the hog, as it takes a good few hours to sizzle away slowly. We would be catering for around 60 guests and serving the feast at 6.30pm, so we set up our equipment on the lawn behind the Sales Office and got cracking. Once the gazebo was up, our serving tables were set up and the hog was cooking, we just had to watch over it to ensure it cooked through and through. Before we knew it, it was time to cook the sausages and skewers and get ready for the queues to begin.
