There are few occasions more heartwarming than a family gathering to celebrate a little one’s milestone, and on 10th August 2025 we were delighted to provide the catering for a very special 2nd birthday party in Stapleford, Cambridge. Surrounded by loved ones, baby Elsie enjoyed her big day in style and our Hog Roast Stapleford menu made sure the food was just as memorable as the occasion.
With a guest list of 14, this intimate celebration was the perfect size for a relaxed buffet service. Our centrepiece was a whole roasted pig with perfectly crisp crackling, served with apple sauce, sage and onion stuffing, and a tempting selection of bread rolls and wraps, including gluten-free options. Guests were able to build their plates just the way they liked, enjoying the theatre of a hog roast with the flexibility of buffet dining.
To complement the main event, the Hog Roast Stapleford team prepared a range of fresh sides: tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, and creamy coleslaw. For the potato option, herb-dressed new potatoes proved a crowd favourite, while marinated chicken thighs added an extra layer of flavour for those wanting variety
alongside the pork.
We know how important it is that no guest feels left out, which is why we always provide a homemade vegetarian and vegan alternative. For this party, our grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers, served
with wraps, tzatziki dip, and a sweet chilli sauce, were a colourful and delicious option.
With 14 guests, the party was the perfect size for a laid-back, social meal. The food was served so everyone could help themselves and enjoy whatever they liked, when they liked. Using wooden plates and cutlery kept things simple and eco-friendly, so the family could just focus on having fun and celebrating Elsie’s big day.
Hog Roast Stapleford was proud to be part of such a meaningful occasion. With fantastic food, warm company, and plenty of birthday cheer, Elsie’s second birthday was a day to remember.
