This weekend Hog Roast Swaffham had been booked to provide the catering for Sarah and Jacks wedding. Having booked in last June we had had plenty of time to plan and organise the wedding menu of their dreams and so when the day came around the pressure was on for the Hog Roast Swaffham chefs to create the perfect meal for such a lovely couple.
The wedding was being held at a fancy stately home in Swaffham and Hog Roast Swaffham was stationed in the magnificent gardens to cater from. Unfortunately, the September weather cannot be relied on and it had started raining early that morning but luckily, we were under a marquee and the gardens were only a short walk from the great hall, so the guests didn’t have to worry about their outfits getting ruined in the rain!
The couple had wanted a very formal and traditional style of wedding catering, so we started off by welcoming all the guests with a glass of champagne and served canapes whilst the official wedding photographs were taken in the grounds. For the canapes we had a selection that included Pate Encroute which is Smooth Brussels Pate Piped onto Crusty Garlic Croutons, Chicken Satay – Skewered Marinated Chicken Strips Served with A Peanut Dip and a local favourite of Haloumi Kebabs – Griddled Chunks of Greek Haloumi Cheese Skewered with Caramelized Onions.
After canapes Hog Roast Swaffham served starters of homemade vegetable soup and smoked salmon that went down a treat. Then whilst we carved the hog roast it was time for the speeches. By this point there wasn’t a dry eye in the room and so we knew it was the perfect time to serve our mouth-watering hog roast that had been slow cooked for eight hours that day. We served it with homemade applesauce, crunchy crackling and lots of roasted vegetables.
Our Hog Roast Swaffham team discreetly packed away after all the guests cleared their plates and managed to see the happy couple off as they sliced the wedding cake! Here’s to many happy years of marriage!
