Janey and her fiancé got engaged last June on the 10th anniversary of their first date and wanted to tie the knot exactly a year later. For their wedding, the pair are planning on enjoying a small-scale, intimate day, with a ceremony at the registry office followed by a beautiful reception at their home in East Anglia. Their garden was transformed for the occasion and filled with flowers of every colour, including a flower wall as a backdrop for photos. The garden was also strung with pretty garlands and fairy lights to create a warm and cosy atmosphere for the occasion. For the catering, Hog Roast Mildenhall was hired to provide a delicious menu for 40 guests to enjoy, including several meat-free guests. Our catering managers Andrew and James discussed several options with the couple before it was decided that a simple hog roast would be ideal, as well as a meat-free main dish. This is our most versatile menu since it is so simple yet so delicious, so we knew that it was sure to go down a treat!
On the day of the reception, the Hog Roast Mildenhall team arrived at the private venue in East Anglia and began to prepare the menu in the garden. The star of the menu was the delicious slow-roasted hog, which was carved by our chef and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alternatively, we also served BBQ-pulled jackfruit for meat-free guests. The mains were served alongside homemade chips, gourmet coleslaw, and a selection of salad dishes, creating a varied and delicious menu.
