Trying Something New In Layham

We have been knee deep in hog roasting all year, this month was no different, in July in Layham there’s been non-stop work for all the team. We’ve worked a busy hog roast Layham schedule that’s seen us up and down the local region, making for our customers the very best in hog roast catering and hog roast Layham machine hire.
We’ve done so much catering this month of July, and even though the weather hasn’t always been as nice as our customers had hoped, the food lived up to their expectations and surpassed it in many ways. Perfect hog roasts and spit roasts, unlike the British weather, will never let you down – not from the Spitting Pig Company, that’s for definite.
This month the underscoring hog roasting event for us was one that we cooked right on the outskirts of the East Anglia border, in Kings Lynn. The hog roast was our favourite to be involved in not just because of the number of great people who were in attendance at the event and who we got to know, the biggest reason we thought the event was the event of the month is because the menu was our favourite to work from.
We conjured up a bespoke menu with the help of Rebecca, who booked us for her twin brother’s joint 40th birthday. The bespoke menu was a fun one to work from; we did something different and unusual with some new meats. Part of the buffet spit roast option was the traditional pig and chicken, with the addition of rabbit and pheasant. The addition of a game bird really did the trick and brought a new element to the hog roast, and it’s not just us who felt that way, the guests, birthday boys and Rebecca who had the idea all agreed that it came off great and was as good, if not better, than the pig and chicken.
Roasting the rabbits and pheasant wasn’t a problem given the Spitting Pig machines we produce have flexible attachments, so we can spit meats of any size.
All the team pulled together and we hit every culinary note with accuracy, the food and service went very well and it was obvious the guests couldn’t get enough of their Spitting Pig servings from the short time it took for the hog roast, chicken roast, pheasant roast and rabbit roast to be well and truly devoured, never mind the canapes, starters, sides and desserts cooked to accompany the hog roast.
It was only one of many great events the team has worked for this month, but it was one worth remembering because of the great time the Spitting Pig Layham team had, especially the chefs who enjoy when they get menus that provide new challenges and different foods, such as the pheasant and rabbit.
