We love any good excuse for a party here at Hog Roast Bourn and what better reason for a celebration than a 21st birthday party?! Matt had decided to host a party at a function room at a local nightclub with around 150 family and friends expected to join him as he celebrated his 21st birthday. I particularly love catering for birthday parties as they are always such a fantastic atmosphere filled with lots of happy and excited guests and I was thrilled when we got the call from Matt last month. The venue itself was a function room with a brilliant balcony area to the side of the property, more than adequately sized for us to be able to cook our Hog Roast Bourn. I was really pleased with this as often we are unable to cook and prepare our food inside, and although this venue required us to cook outdoors we were close by and still felt we were easily accessible by all guests – meaning they were able to come and get food without straying too far away from the party, plus able to observe us cooking our delicious food if they so wished!
The venue itself had been decorated wonderfully by some of Matt’s closest family members with plenty of ‘21’ balloons, a giant personalised banner, streamers and fantastic table decorations. Further, the venue had its own photo booth for guests to document the brilliant evening and a great DJ who took great pleasure in playing all of the guests favourite hits.
Guests arrived to freshly poured champagne which were frequently clinked together in celebration as the delicious scent of slow roasted food wafted in the air. It created quite a stir with guests frequently checking with us to see how long the food would be as the smell was driving them mad and making their mouths water! Luckily, it wasn’t long for them to wait and we began serving the Hog Roast Bourn. We had arrived at the venue early in the day, at around 2 o’clock in order to prepare and get out hog roasting slowly for several hours before guests were ready to eat. We set up a great selection of condiments including freshly prepared apple sauce, homely sage and onion stuffing and professionally prepared crackling for guests to help themselves too whilst our highly skilled staff served the free range spit roasted pork meat. The food went down a treat, the perfect meal to provide all the energy needed for a night filled with dancing at Matt’s 21st birthday party! Cheers!
