It’s been a hot minute since Hog Roast Sandringham last attended a concert, and boy had we missed it! The vibrant atmosphere, the excitable crowds belting out song lyrics and the chance to experience music from up-and-coming and established artists alike. Not forgetting the fact that there is always plenty of people to serve our delicious hog roast dishes to! But last weekend, our team were given a taste of the good old days after being asked to cater for an open-air gig in a neighbouring town.
The musical event doubled as a fundraiser, and soon after the announcement broke that it was indeed going to go ahead, it had caught the attention of many of the town’s locals. As renowned caterers, it was the job of our Hog Roast Sandringham team to cook and serve one of our delectable spreads, and for this occasion, the booking required our classic hog roast menu with disposable cutlery and crockery. This menu actually happens to be one of our most popular choices as the stripped-back approach allows for the spit roast to retain the limelight, but it’s also so diverse in the types of events that it can be served at.
To ensure that the pig was crispy and golden with hints of charcoal in all the right places, the Hog Roast Sandringham catering crew made sure to arrive at the venue with oodles of time to spare. Using the Hogmaster, they left the pork to rest on a bed of savoury stuffing while they turned their focus to the meat-free alternative of grilled veggie skewers and tzatziki dip, some of which also included chunks of Greek haloumi cheese. To make the feast a little more interesting (not that it needed to be!) the team also incorporated our jalapeno and cheese smothered fries.
As the guests lined up to get their fill, the Hog Roast Sandringham team swiftly handed out plates which featured pulled-pork and crackling stuffed gluten-free rolls with savoury stuffing, applesauce and fries for the meat-lovers, while veggies were instead treated to the skewers, fries and flatbreads. Everyone had a wonderful time and the event raised an impressive sum for charity too!
