From spectacular countryside views and peaceful waterfronts to historical stately homes and iconic landmark locations, East Anglia’s landscapes are teeming with beauty, which makes Hog Roast Beccles all the more proud to call this region our home! And we are very thankful that, as caterers, we get the chance to explore the area’s splendour on an almost daily basis.
Our profession takes us far and wide as we strive to assist as many people as possible with their catering needs. Last weekend, this saw us help out at Jenna and Connor’s classic country barn wedding!
The stunning venue the couple had chosen for the occasion boasted elegance and charm, thanks to the original 13th-century features and striking decorations, which tied the space together. Our job, of course, was to fill the reception hall with aromatic fragrances from one of our mouth-watering menu plans. This time, we had been asked to serve our Alfresco Menu to the couple and their 135 guests.
Jenna and Connor had picked this particular menu as they loved the idea of having antipasti platters at each table for the guests to dig into, which, paired with the main course and dessert options, made for a well-rounded, wholesome feast that suited everyone’s tastes.
With catering managers Andrew and James at the helm, Hog Roast Beccles worked hard to create this delightful menu for the group of celebrants, and sure enough, they delivered an outstanding group dining solution that had everyone talking about the food for all the right reasons!
Our Italian charcuterie boards, which overflowed with cold-cut meats, rich cheeses, artisan bread, olives, sun dried tomatoes and a variety of dressings, proved to be the perfect way to kick off the meal. Everyone loved the communal aspect of these foodie centrepieces, but they loved the hog roast that followed even more!
Our team proudly served our signature soft and juicy pork with sage and onion stuffing, crackling and a drizzle of applesauce to the guests, along with a mix of side salads, roasted new potatoes, sweet potato fries and homemade gourmet coleslaw. Hog Roast Beccles had also prepared some grilled vegetable kebabs for the small number of veggie/vegan guests in attendance.
This delightful meal was brought to a close with a choice of dessert options. These included tarte au citron or cheesecake, which all of the guests complimented!
