Snape has had its fair share of spit roasted pig in September, no doubt about it, I think I personally cooked a good hundred tonnes of the stuff over the course of the month. A smallish sized event which was a great working hog roast day was for Daniel Whittaker, owner of a local company which manufactures and assembles fireplaces. He’d heard what we were about and booked us immediately after phoning us for a hog roastĀ Snape quote.
Returning the faith that the client put in Spitting Pig to give their many workers the very best hog roast I got myself in the hog roast Snape groove early, 4 in the morning early to be more accurate, that’s the time me and Aidan arrived on site with our Spitting Pig hog roasting machine and a pig big enough to feed all 72 of the staff. With a couple of hours of cooking the pig and talking over the weekend football results with Aidan, the staff started to arrive in their droves and the sound of birds chirping to themselves was replaced by staff discussion as they braced the cold morning weather while waiting for the best breakfast they’ll have had in years. Thankfully for the staff the pig was all but done by the time everybody had clocked in and there was only a short wait while we prepared and cut up the pig with our always reliable traditional carving knives.
September really was as active as I’d ever seen the month and the weekend that’s just gone to close the month I was the main hog roast chef for the Spitting Pig team at a big anniversary. The event was a spectacle and a half, the food was a spectacle and a half, and if you put together two spectacles and a half together you get 3, add two zeros to the end of that number and that’s how many people I made a hog roast for – 300 guests served the best of a 90kg spit roast pig. Just another of many 90kg pigs I ended up cooking for hog roastĀ Snape events in September
Looking at the booking list for October I’ve got the same to look forward to, I can’t wait!
