As far as superstitions go, many people to this day are filled with dread when they hear that Friday the 13th is approaching. But despite its notoriety for being one of the unluckiest days of the year, getting a tattoo with this number is a tradition that is actually believed to be fortuitous! So, while everyone else is minding the cracks on the pavement and being careful to avoid walking under ladders, tattoo enthusiasts eagerly anticipate these special days, and back in March, tattoo artist, Neil was eager to celebrate with a community convention
After getting all the local tattooists on board, Neil set about organising the event by first of all asking Hog Roast Barsham to cater to the 180 people who had shown an interest in attending. After all, getting inked is never something you should do on an empty stomach! As always, our team couldn’t wait to get involved, and choosing the right menu for the special day became the number one priority for our catering manager.
Knowing that people with all different dietary requirements and preferences were going to be attending, the Hog Roast Barsham catering crew recommended our southern slow-roast menu which offers three meat options, a vegetarian and vegan alternative along with an array of side dishes which allow each guest to customise their own meal. Neil was really pleased with the suggestion, and with the venue booked, everything was falling into place.
For the convention, Neil had hired out a warehouse which provided plenty of space for the artists to set up their equipment and for Hog Roast Barsham to prepare a gorgeous banquet of drool-inducing food. While the catering crew tirelessly cooked the BBQ pork butt, cajun spiced whole roast chickens, creole pulled quarter of spiced lamb and grilled veggie skewers with chilled salad sides, Neil and the other artists arrived to display their Friday the 13th flash sheets and ready their stations.
The atmosphere was literally buzzing as the tattoo machines roared into action while the first of the guests braved the needle, and after stepping off the chair, they hungrily devoured the mouth-watering feast that had been specially prepared by Hog Roast Barsham’s team of experts.
