Once a year, country music fans from all over the UK and beyond flock to the Ipswich countryside to hear some of the best musicians of the genre for a weekend-long festival. Hog Roast Ipswich were invited to be one of the lead caterers at the event of which we were pleased to oblige – particularly because our chef is a massive country fan!
Normally used as farmland, a large section of the land was partitioned off with the main section housing the thousands of music fans expected with three stages set-up, a side field where camping has been allowed for those staying for the whole weekend, then a food court-style area where we were located under a catering gazebo. We not only had a stunning view of Ipswich, we were also on a higher gradient meaning that in quieter moments, we were able to appreciate the music, which is always a nice perk!
The festival organisers wanted the catering offering to be in keeping with the country theme so we suggested our Private Party Southern Slow Roast Menu 2. Although not a party as such, we felt that this would best suit the event so we were happy to provide tis.
We offered Texan 24-Hour Beef Brisket, Fall Off The Bone Louisiana Sticky Pork Ribs and Creole Pulled Quarter of Spiced Lamb, each of which were marinated in our homemade rubs and served with Jack Daniels Smoky Sweet BBQ Glaze, Cajun Hot Pepper Sauce or Stubbs Legendary Hickory Bourbon BBQ Sauce.
Customers were also able to help themselves to: Memphis Style Crunchy Coleslaw, Corn Cobettes, Mac & Cheese and Skin-On Southern Style Whole Baked Potatoes. We also offered Grilled Vegetable and Halloumi Wraps with Tzatziki sauce for vegetarians.
The festival began at noon on Saturday and continued until 11pm on the evening. We were inundated with orders across much of the day and lost count of the amount of people who came over to praise the tenderness of the meat and how much they enjoyed it.
The festival provided a wonderful atmosphere and it was a pleasure for Hog Roast Ipswich to be a part of.
