It’s never too late in life to start a new hobby, learn a new skill or make new friends, and the local over 60s choir we catered for recently, are certainly a testament to that philosophy! Formed by retired music teacher Jan, the choir was initially just intended to be a bit of fun for her and her retired chums, but it quickly grew in popularity to the point where they had to hire the church hall to rehearse in! Before Jan knew it, her singing retirees had grown in skill and confidence so much, that they decided to put on a show to impress all of their families, friends and wider community with what they had achieved in such a short space of time!
After the initial nerves and misgivings about performing in public for the first time, everyone was soon on board with the idea, and to really make a night of it, they decided to have an after-show-party with food and fizz for all involved! Their budget wouldn’t stretch to anything as extravagant as an after party at the Royal Albert Hall, but they wanted to make it feel special all the same, so they asked Hog Roast Norwich to do the honours! They chose us because we can provide high quality food without breaking the bank and because we can cook at any venue-in this case the function room of their local theatre. As an added bonus, when it comes to timing our service, Hog Roast Norwich are as accurate as Jan when she is conducting her choir! We told Jan with 100% confidence, that everything would be freshly prepared at the venue and it would be cooked perfectly and ready to serve as the final applause was dying down after their performance!
Jan and her choir did themselves proud and from the rapturous applause coming from the auditorium, it was evident everyone else agreed. What started out as a hobby for Jan and her friends, had now become a local singing sensation, and the superb slow-roasted spread that awaited them next door was well-deserved! Our classic hog roast and seasonal vegetables were devoured with great enthusiasm by everyone, and they all felt like Hog Roast Norwich’s pitch perfect grub made the success of their maiden performance even more memorable!
