Here at Hog Roast East Haddon, one of the most important things we have to be able to do as caterers is to adapt our services to suit the needs and conditions of different event styles.
For instance, we understand that not every bride and groom dreams of a traditional wedding ceremony with the big white dress, the church or grand manor house venue or the formal sit-down dinner with upwards of a hundred guests. For some couples, like Tyler and Anna, it’s preferable to keep their celebrations on the more low-key side of things.
That’s why we put so much work into making sure that our menu options encompass a wide variety of different needs – so that everyone can enjoy the fantastic dining experience they deserve! And with a vast selection of customer-approved menu options to choose from, each of which can be further tweaked to suit the wants of our customers and clients, Hog Roast East Haddon is proud to be East Anglia’s go-to catering provider.
As a result, our catering managers, Andrew and James, are always busy managing bookings, and recently, they had the honour of helping Tyler and Anna with their informal wedding event.
This lovely young couple, who got engaged last year, had decided to go against the grain and plan a wedding that reflected their wishes. This meant renting a field for the day, which boasted incredible views of a nearby lake and surrounding countryside. They had sourced hay bales from a nearby farm for the guests to sit on during the ceremony, the reception meal took place underneath a stretch tent, and instead of a traditional wedding dress, Anna had opted for a white tea dress.
The pair had invited 30 people to join them in commemorating their marriage, and Hog Roast East Haddon had been asked to serve our Alfresco Wedding Menu, which provided the group with a classic hog roast – crackling, stuffing, applesauce and all – with mixed fries, coleslaw and side salads. Our team also served rustic antipasti boards covered with cold-cut meats, cheeses and artisan breads.
At the end of this tasty feast, which the guests found incredibly satisfying, Hog Roast East Haddon served individual cheesecakes and profiteroles before slicing the wedding cake, which they presented as a buffet with fresh cream and summer fruits.
