Here at Hog Roast Northill, the quality and freshness of our ingredients is one of the cornerstones of our catering services. We are always seeking out great locally produced fare, home grown goods and the finest seasonal ingredients throughout the year.
In case you don’t already know, we go far beyond our signature hog roasts when it comes to the variety of food that we offer our clients, and this includes a selection of alternative meats to choose from. At this time of year, we get particularly excited about showcasing our spring lamb, which is sourced from the most established Red Tractor approved farmers in the UK.
Our delicious lamb is a key feature of several of our menus and it can be enjoyed alongside or instead of our classic hog roasts. The cooking method we use to prepare our lamb is much the same technique we use for our hog roasts, as it is a great way of cooking a range of different large joints of meat. We spit roast the lamb for the required number of hours, all the while turning it slowly throughout the whole cooking process, which maximises its succulence. Prior to cooking, it is studded with garlic and rosemary, which infuse during the long slow roasting process, enhancing the lamb’s superb nature flavour. The lovely lamb centrepiece can be served with mint sauce and Yorkshire puddings, alongside a selection of side dishes as part of a more formal sit-down meal. This includes a medley of seasonal vegetables and a choice of potato dishes. Our creamy Dauphinoise potatoes baked with garlic are a great choice, and our garlic and rosemary infused roast potatoes complement the flavours of the lamb perfectly.
If you would love to try our lamb but you would prefer a completely different style of menu, lamb is also a key feature of Hog Roast Northill’s popular Southern style menu, This time, you can enjoy a pulled quarter of minted lamb cooked ‘low and slow’ alongside a selection of other meats, served with delicious sides inspired by America’s’ Deep South and a choice of sweet, sticky and spicy sauces.
However you like your lamb, now is the optimum time of year to enjoy it as part of your very own bespoke Hog Roast Northill menu!
