Our catering services are available all year-round, so you can hire us whatever the weather to provide a sumptuous feast – whether it’s sunny or raining, windy or even snowing. For an autumn wedding vow renewal celebration yesterday, we experienced sun, rain and wind and it felt like it would snow too, with the cold chill in the air. Nevertheless, the temperamental weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits at Anna and Nic’s party, where we cooked up a lovely winter warmer hog roast Coton inside a marquee.
Anna spoke to us to book the event a few weeks ago, once the couple had decided to go ahead and celebrate their marriage of 25 years with many people who had attended their wedding as well as many people who hadn’t, including their children and grandchildren and friends they have made since that time. The party would be for 35 guests at a lovely local hotel, and we would set up a marquee in the gardens due to the impending rainy weather.
For a winter warmer hog roast Coton, you get to choose the seasonal vegetables that we serve you and your guests, and Anna and Nic wanted a Mediterranean-style version of mixed peppers, aubergine, onions and courgettes, as they had actually met on the Greek island of Rhodes 27 years ago.
We arrived at the posh hotel venue early in the afternoon yesterday to set up our hog roasting machine and serving station inside the marquee, to start prepping and then slowly cooking the hog roast Coton for several hours. Some time later it was time to start on the fresh veggies, too, and soon then they too were roasting away.
The ceremony itself was performed elsewhere, and when the guests began to arrive at the hotel, the marquee tent was filled with wonderful aromas of roasted pork. The juicy meat pieces just fell off the bone when we carved into it, and the crackling was pure perfection. We had many compliments of how the meat just melted in the mouth, and the vegetables all went down a treat as well.
At the end of the evening, Anna and Nic were so pleased that they booked us in for their home Christmas party, where we will provide a spit roast turkey and all the trimmings, as well as mulled wine and homemade mince pies.
