Hog Roast NorwichWhen Barry called Hog Roast Norwich to book his birthday celebration, he was inviting around thirty guests who would mostly be treated to our famous pigs in buns – fresh, hot pork slivers and crispy crackling crammed into fresh bread rolls and topped with our own-recipe sage and onion stuffing and tangy apple sauce. However, Barry also asked us to cater a vegan guest. We often cater guests on special diets, including vegetarian and gluten-intolerant, and we have various dishes to suit, and for vegans, we can make a dairy-free mac and cheese, stuffed peppers or mushrooms, and lots of other delicious options.

For this guest, who had enjoyed our food before, Barry asked us to make our veggie skewers, which we usually make with halloumi and fresh vegetables. For vegans, we omit the cheese and instead just grill tasty chunks of tomatoes, mushrooms, pepper, courgette and red onion, and serve with fresh pitta bread.

On the day of the party, to celebrate Barry’s 48th birthday, our Hog Roast Norwich chef and team members made their way to his family home and set up our equipment in the large back garden. Barry is a long-term customer of ours, and a lover of our pigs in buns, so once we started roasting the hog, he was forever asking if it was ready yet, even though he knows it takes hours to cook to perfection!

By 4pm, the guests arrived to the meaty aromas that filled the air and the spectacular sight of a roasting pig, and it was resting while we prepared the hog roast rolls ingredients and finished off the lovely skewers and soon after, we were serving some amazing food to some hungry guests.
